Minister's Message

Photo og Rev Ruth FryAt our Autumn Methodist District Synod last month we were challenged to 'be courageous'.
Wesley Methodist Church is now well underway with its 5 year mission and growth plan and we are indeed seeking to be courageous. We want to inspire and enable everyone in this community to recognise and celebrate with us the presence of God here in Weeke.
We recognise, however, that we are without doubt living in the midst of challenging times. Issues concerning the climate crisis, rising inequality in our society and of course Brexit are rarely far from our thoughts.
Our vision is to see Wesley thriving well into the future as a sign of hope to all within the local community.
We are really excited to be launching a new intergenerational initiative this month - 'Lego Church'!
We are also now opening the church each month for ‘Oasis’, a space for quiet, for personal prayer, or simply perhaps as somewhere to be still and to reflect. The focus for this is different each month. Some recent themes include climate justice, homelessness and supporting our children and young people.
Do come along and join in.
